I did do the following search in google and the two links that are purple might work. You forward your email to a specific email account that your blog will specifically check, embed and update (not sure if it handles attachments).

Independent Student Support Systems is live

Today we have launched Independent Student Support Systems, we are supporting 3 students this year in top LA private schools. Each student has excelled in their academics and least one part of life outside of school. These students also have incredible life stories, overcomming odds that would make survival an accomplishment, these students are thriving and need our support. ISSS will focus on getting basic supplies for these students to be successful this includes; books, meal plans, clothes, and technology. We hope to expand our program in the comming year to support a great number of students in private schools in LA. Eventually we will provide support tools to secondary students to help them excel through high school (private and public) and get them ready for college.

I just finished inputting grade and am going to get the usual "Mr. Jacob failed me" speech from my students. I give the same "you earn you grade" speech and we agree to leave it as a stalemate. Why does this study(pdf) not surprise me. I give out a survey at the start of my year and my parents, the vast majority, want their child to go to college and yet a third don't expect their child to complete the courses necessary. How do we get parents beyond wanting an A for their child and step up to earning an A in college preparedness for their child?

Its that time of year kids. Time to pick your school. If your at Cochran, you get to choose your school. Kind of cool, I didn't get to pick schools until I went to college, before that you were given a school and thats where you went. But in LAUSD you have Magnets, Charters, even other general public schools. If you don't like your school YOU can make a change. Here is some advice.

1. Check out your middle school and future high school at GreatSchools.net
Things to look for
API <> 600 School is okay
API > 700 School is great

2. Magnets - Fun Fun Fun I *heart* these at least more than charter because you are still supporting public schools. A list of schools and how to apply is available at echoices.lausd.net
Things to know:
You need 12pts to get in (4 non-white, 4 attending a PI school, 4 each year of rejection)
My students, you have 8 pts based on race and location
Apply and get rejected by Los Angeles Center Enriched Studies to earn 4pts to put toward your high school application (applies only to 7th graders not planning on attending a magnet for 8th grade)
Choices is time sensitive, the sooner you turn in your application the better chance you have for getting in.

3. Use E-choices to access other public schools not in your home district and look for open enrollment in April

4. Charters - Some of these are great, some not so good call up the charter your interested in.
Charters normally require extra time out from both students and parents, but also include extra opportunities including field trips, chances for travel and professional mentoring.

2. Any flat fee charged per month and included minutes
3. Any Flat fee charged per day and included minutes
4. Charge per minute (might be more than one depending on how long you talk)
5. Times they charge for calling

Optional (Write in terms of cost per month)
a. TXT charge
b. Picture charge
c. Ringtone charge
d. Game charge
e. Internet charge
f. Equipment protection

Example:
1. T-mobile
2. $39.99 a month, includes 600minutes
3. No charge per day
4. No charge for the first 600 minutes, after 600 they charge $0.40 cents
